[it'l ltake him a while, but he will eventually make it to the lab. he seems nervous still, despite sorey's previous explaining that everything would be okay.]
[makoto does take a seat, feeling a little out of place, but nonetheless confident that sorey will be able to help him. sorey's incredibly nice; he won't mess up makoto for no reason, and that much he knows.]
Go ahead.
[...this supernatural kind of life is so unusual to him.]
[if sorey were to pry into makoto's soul, he'll notice that it is calm--a tree billowing in the breeze, the rustle of leaves golden and all shades of green, a steady foundation in an otherwise summer afternoon. there are, however, dark, dark spots growing around the tree, pulsing and eating away at the bark--]
[at least, that's what his soul looks like. the intrusion of mistress nine has started to make his soul wither and shrivel up--metaphorically, of course, makoto's feelings strewn about to negatives.]
[the only thing he really needs to do is look and focus; it's a feeling as much as it is a sight, so he picks up on the discrepancies pretty quickly and can't help but make a little frown.]
Well, it's definitely something. I can see why it felt off to you. Purification should help, if you want to try it.
[he can't give false hope when he isn't sure, and he waits to be honest with Makoto]
The different powers from different worlds coming together makes things a little more complicated, because it's hard to tell what will and won't have an effect. But if something looks like malevolence to me, then purifying it has always done something positive as a result. It might not be a complete fix, but I can assure you that it won't be worse off than before if we try it.
[there's no denying it: this scares makoto, because it's so out of his ordinary, slice of life family. but if he's learnt once thing in his time in this planet, it is to be braver and to persevere.]
With this...I think it helps to focus on what you want made whole. If there's something you want mended or healed, then you need to think about what that is and why. Purification is stronger if someone wants to be purified--it means you're working just as hard to fix it as I am.
[he offers both of his hands, palm up]
I just need to be touching you for it to work. It'll look like fire, but it doesn't burn or hurt. If that's too much for you then I'd suggest closing your eyes.
[uh-- he raises his hands as well, placing them on top of sorey's. but before he touches the other, he says outloud--for himself, and sorey, who is going out of his way to do this for him]
I want to get better. I really do.
[so, with that, and thinking--trying to focus his thoughts on what he wants 'healed,' he holds onto sorey's hands, not sure on what to expect]
[The only thing Sorey really has to do is concentrate--it's almost automatic for him to use the flames of purification at this point. It feels warm deep in his bones, spreading out slow and consistent until it reaches his fingertips. If Makoto keeps his eyes open, it does look like he's being enveloped in bright blue flames, but it doesn't hurt.]
[he does, and he almost wishes he hadn't. but that's just his general sense of cowardice rearing its ugly face around to see what's up.]
[this really goes beyond the realm of normalcy for makoto]
[there's a squeak and the instinctual urge to pull back, but he remembers the purpose of this and makes himself stay still as he watches the warmth spread]
[Sorey can't help but quirk his mouth up into a little smile at the squeak--he should have seen it coming, really. But he focuses on his task until he's spread the purification as much as he can to Makoto's heart, clearing it of any sense of malevolence. Makoto's desire to see it healed will work to increase the purification, and by the time Sorey lets go it will feel good as new, even if it's still mending.]
[he admits, softly, when sorey pulls his hands away. makoto stares at his own for a moment as if stupefied, and tries to weigh out how he feels now versus how he has been feeling, all this time.]
Lighter, too. I mean, I don't notice too much of a change, but it feels like breathing's a bit easier? It may all be in my head, too, but...
