[wiggling a bit to make himself more comfortable, perfectly content to take a nap on Mikleo if it comes to that]

Take your time, I'm not in a rush.

[starts petting his hair instead of answering, with a little sniff]

[it's a light doze, not fully sleeping; his eyes flutter open every now and then, and he's still listening to the sound of the breeze and the occasionally seals barking not far away. stubbornness means he won't move until he hears Mikleo ask, but tiredness is definitely a factor too.]

[Mikleo's hand is soft in his hair, his body loose and relaxed under Sorey's; it drags on a long quiet while. peaceful.]

[until Sorey's stomach completely ruins the mood by growling, which is enough to pull him out of his dozing]

[a tiny snort, resting his hand on the nape of Sorey's neck]

Please get up.

Alright, I'm up.

[as he's getting up he pauses to give Mikleo a soft kiss on the lips, brief as can be before he's on his feet and offering Mikleo a hand up]

sputters and stammers for a moment, gone pink, before finally grabbing his hand]

[pulling him up and keeping hold of his hand as he looks around for a good non-sandy spot to sit and eat.]

Let's eat other there--the seals shouldn't bother us if we're farther in.

[lets himself be led, covering his face with the hand he's got free]

You're too much.

You've known that for a while already.

You're--you're lucky I love you!

I sure am!

[he finds a good spot in the shade to take a seat, tugging at Mikleo's hand to get him to sit too]

It's a good thing you put up with me, because I don't know who else will.

[that catches him off guard a little. well--things like this catch him off guard in general, the sudden soft-edged realizations that things have shifted between them, that love and romance are concepts out in the open. kissing. it makes him blurt, uncharacteristically serious]

Anyone would be lucky to have you.

[teasing and playful gestures Sorey can handle--it's close enough to how things have always been that he can take them in stride. But it's too easy to embarrass him with a serious display of affection so suddenly, and it's his turn to blush]

Well--the same goes for you. Doesn't that make us both pretty lucky?

[squeezes his hand]

I suppose it does.

[leaning his shoulder against Mikleo's comfortably. he could get the food out, but that would mean letting go of Mikleo's hand.]

I thought that before too--that whoever you ended up with would be the luckiest person ever. But it feels funny to think like that when it's me.

[eh, they can have a Moment before they eat. leaning back against him, teasing fondness creeping back into his tone]

You could always use some more luck. I'm not complaining.

You think so? I thought my luck was about average.

See, that's why you need me around.

I could think of plenty of reasons to keep you around, but reminding me about my luck isn't one of them.
