[that catches him off guard a little. well--things like this catch him off guard in general, the sudden soft-edged realizations that things have shifted between them, that love and romance are concepts out in the open. kissing. it makes him blurt, uncharacteristically serious]

[teasing and playful gestures Sorey can handle--it's close enough to how things have always been that he can take them in stride. But it's too easy to embarrass him with a serious display of affection so suddenly, and it's his turn to blush]

Well--the same goes for you. Doesn't that make us both pretty lucky?

[leaning his shoulder against Mikleo's comfortably. he could get the food out, but that would mean letting go of Mikleo's hand.]

I thought that before too--that whoever you ended up with would be the luckiest person ever. But it feels funny to think like that when it's me.

[eh, they can have a Moment before they eat. leaning back against him, teasing fondness creeping back into his tone]

You could always use some more luck. I'm not complaining.

See, that's why you need me around.

I could think of plenty of reasons to keep you around, but reminding me about my luck isn't one of them.

[nudging his shoulder, insistent]

Lucky or not, you need someone to keep an eye on you.

Well...Only sometimes.

But you make it sound like I'm some kind of troublemaker! It's not like I can agree with that.

Are you sure? It's not like I haven't got firsthand experience.

Falling into traps in ruins doesn't count.

[there are other instances but that's gotta be like, 75% of them]

[laughs a little and leans over; since sorey won't let his hand go but they still have two free hands between them he may as well assist with getting their remaining food out]

That doesn't count as trouble, it counts as exploring.

They're biased. They'd count most of what we've done as trouble.
